A month after one of the most important events in the video game industry, E3, publisher Annapurna Interactive decided to launch its first individual showcase. For the more distracted, this publisher was known for titles like Journey, Gorogoa, What Remains of Edith Finch, or Outer Wilds, which it helped to launch. Even though they are quite peculiar titles, they can touch all players in the most diverse ways.
This 30-minute event was attended by several partners who presented their most recent works and, by the way, I’m extremely interested in all of them.
The Artful Escape
The event started off in a big way with The Artful Escape, a game impressive for its visual beauty and contagious atmosphere that tells the story of a guitar prodigy in search of inspiration for his stage persona. This title will feature well-known voices like Lena Headey from Game of Thrones, Mark Strong from Kingsman, or Jason Schwartzmann from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Remember Donut County? The puzzle game based on an ever-growing hole? Neon White is presented by the hands of super creative producer Ben Esposito, in a completely different premise from its previous title. Instead of holes, the player will control demons in a first-person view with parkour techniques and mechanics that involve the use of abilities present in cards. It actually looks like a rather complicated mix, but after the gameplay video, all those doubts were allayed. Here each player’s experience, skill, finger speed are put to the test. It is even possible to compete against the best times from all corners of the world.
A Memoir Blue
A mix between reality and memories of Miriam, a champion swimmer, with her mother. Memories are presented by hand strokes, which intertwine with each other in a world filled with blue. Memoir Blue allows us to foresee a deep and touching story. Prepare your handkerchiefs for this title.
In this title that stitches itself between puzzles and storylines, the objective is precisely to create a story with the presented theme. With simple drag and drop mechanics, the player has to give free rein to his imagination to create a story that makes sense.
Presented by the hand of the studio behind the Hyper Light Drifter, Solar Ash presents itself as an action-adventure game wrapped in a surreal world and rollerblades?
We are always open to strange titles… Skin Deep has brought another layer to the immersive world of real-life simulators. This sci-fi title is all about sneaking, sabotaging, space pirates, talking cats…
Stray joined forces with Annapurrrrrrna ( I couldn’t miss the chance) to release a furry title wrapped in a cyberpunk atmosphere inhabited by robots. The player will have the mission to control a friendly kitten in an adventure with lots of action and puzzles in the mix.
Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye
The first and only expansion for Outer Wilds, entitled Echoes of the Eye is shrouded in a rather creepy environment, but it doesn’t reveal much more.
Finally, some contracts were presented with new partners, such as the studio responsible for Falcon Age, Outerloop Games, Jessia Mak is known for musical games such as Sound Shapes, No Code studio, producers of horror experiences, among others.
