Publisher ESDigital Games and developer Magic Hazard have just dropped an electrifying new gameplay trailer for Memory Lost, their upcoming story-driven top-down action shooter. Packed with never-before-seen footage, the trailer gives fans a glimpse into the fast-paced, tactical combat and innovative mechanics that await when the game launches in 2025.
What is Memory Lost?
Memory Lost takes you to the dystopian metropolis of Detraxis, a city of technological marvels and ruthless corporate wars. Players will step into the role of the Neural Network, a sentient AI with the extraordinary ability to “mind-capture” enemies—shifting consciousness into their bodies to commandeer their skills, weapons, and memories.
This unique mechanic makes every encounter a deadly chess match, as you strategically adapt to the battlefield by jumping from body to body. Need ammo? Low on health? Capture a new host and turn the tide in your favor. In Memory Lost, survival is all about adaptability.
Key Features
- New Body, New Gameplay: Every enemy in Memory Lost brings a fresh gameplay twist. With dozens of enemy types, each with unique skills and characteristics, the way you approach combat constantly evolves.
- Mind-Capture for Survival: Forget first-aid kits and endless ammo. Your only way to stay alive is to leave your current body when it’s depleted and jump into a healthier host. Run out of bullets? Find a new body with full magazines to keep fighting!
- Capture Memories, Build Personality: Every time you inhabit an enemy, you gain access to their memories, contributing to the Neural Network’s evolving personality. At the Mind-Map hub location, you’ll process collected memories, unlock new abilities, and see how your choices shape the AI’s development.
- Karma-Based Endings: Your decisions matter. Will you kill for survival, mercy, or the greater good? The Neural Network’s moral alignment determines which of the three possible endings you’ll unlock. Replay the game with different tactics to see how Karma shifts based on your actions.
Memory Lost will launch for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch in 2025. Memory Lost: Chapter One is available for PC to download from Steam for free now.
