Silver Lining Interactive has officially announced a publishing partnership with developer Steel Mantis to bring the next chapter in the Slain saga to life. Slain 2: The Beast Within, a brutal, pixel-art action platformer, is set to launch on PC via Steam in 2026.

A direct successor to Slain: Back From Hell, the upcoming title plunges players back into a universe overwhelmed by demonic forces and gothic horror. The sentient sword Bathoryn returns, as does the ever-escalating war against the abyssal corruption of Lord Vroll, this time stretching far beyond the dying kingdoms of the first game—across planets and haunted realms alike.

A New Hero Rises

In Slain 2: The Beast Within, players take on the mantle of Prince Akran, the last of the Wolf Knights. Cursed and empowered by the blood of the moon, Akran channels the feral rage of the Beast within. As the living vessel of Bathoryn, he becomes both hunter and executioner in a realm teetering on the brink of annihilation.

Key Features

Ferocious, Blood-Drenched Combat

Combat in Slain 2 is fast, unforgiving, and soaked in gore. Master brutal melee combos and devastating counterattacks. Bathoryn’s elemental powers—fire, ice, and destruction—let players carve a path of unrelenting mayhem through the monstrous legions of the abyss.

The Blood of the Wolf Knights

Under the full moon, Akran unleashes his inner beast, transforming into a monstrous werewolf. In this form, players gain blistering speed and overwhelming power, tearing enemies apart with primal fury.

Three Quests, Three Doomed Paths

The journey is split across three harrowing quests, each ending in blood and sacrifice. Players will explore ghost-ridden seas, haunted castles, and the abyss itself in search of relics known as The Eye, The Heart, and The Dagger—each one vital, each path deadly.

Confront the Dark Gods

Terrifying creatures wait in the dark. From vengeful witches to abyssal warlocks and malformed horrors, each foe demands a brutal mix of skill and timing to defeat.

A Kingdom in Decay

The world design channels the haunting atmosphere fans expect from the series. From the decaying alleys of Wolftown to fog-wreathed highlands and blood-soaked catacombs, Slain 2 delivers an unrelenting aesthetic of gothic ruin and desperation.
