Key Highlights from Subnautica 2

A New World, A New Mission

Players will find themselves on a completely new alien planet, facing a mission that quickly unravels into something far more mysterious. The ship’s AI is insistent—continue the mission—but the environment is hostile to human life. The only way to survive might be to redefine what it means to be human.

Explore Solo or in Co-op

For the first time in the series, Subnautica 2 supports online multiplayer. Up to four players can dive in together to build bases, explore ruins, and uncover secrets of this new world. Solo players can still enjoy the full experience, with the added tension of surviving alone.

Build and Customize Like Never Before

Crafting and base-building return with expanded features. From essential survival tools like the Scanner and Flashlight to advanced submersibles, the game promises deeper customization options and an overhauled building system to better adapt to the alien environment.

Discover Vibrant New Biomes

The game’s world is bursting with life and diversity, from coral-laced shallows to towering underwater cliffs. But beneath the beauty, something is off. The planet feels unbalanced—and uncovering the reasons behind it will be key to your survival.

Evolve Through Discovery

Scan unfamiliar creatures and study the planet’s unique ecology. As you learn more about the world around you, you’ll gain the ability to adapt biologically—altering your own genetics to survive in ways humans never have before.

With its blend of mystery, exploration, and survival, Subnautica 2 is shaping up to be a major evolution in the franchise. Whether you’re a veteran diver or new to the deep, this is one to keep an eye on as Early Access approaches.
